Adrian Zivojinovich
At the age of 14 Adrian decided he wanted to get into music, but the last thing he wanted to do was bask in his father’s projected limelight. “I don’t get a chance to hear him much,” remarked Alex at the time. “He’s very secretive about his playing, but I sneak around the house and catch him when he’s practising.”
When he left school Adrian played in some local bands and worked as an assistant engineer in a Toronto recording studio, but ultimately he wanted to produce material of his own. He left in the summer of 1999 to work on his own, techno/ambient music at the Lifeson home studio. “He’s written some stuff that just blows my mind. I mean, he’s got a handle on creating moods and colours with music that is overwhelming. I think that he has a future in music, and I know that’s what he wants to do. I support him and stand by him 100%.”
Adrian participated on ‘Victor’; more recently, Alex has been helping Adrian put a demo together to try for a record deal, adding the occasional piece of material. “I’ve been doing a fair amount of work with him lately, he’s asked me to come in and do guitar on some of the things he does,” said Alex. “So we’re having a lot of fun… to be in that environment with your kid, where you’re both creative and I feel like a kid still.”
