Mike Hirsch

Mike worked for Concert Sound Inc., who first worked for Rush on the ‘Caress of Steel’ tour. Mike was very tall, and he had a very deep voice, earning him the nickname “Lurch”. “He had only to walk into a room and any troublemakers around would do a double take and instantly quieten down,” reported Brian Harrigan.

By ‘A Farewell To Kings’ Mike had joined the band’s own payroll, as stage manager. He had a reputation for arriving with the first truck and leaving with the last, covering every aspect from load-in to load-out. Mike decided to step down at the end of the ‘Moving Pictures’ tour, informing his successor Nick Kotos at the end-of-tour party.
