Robin McBride
Robin was a Chicago-based music producer, who worked initially for Columbia Records. One of his claims to fame was in 1964, when he signed and worked with Barry and The Remains. A musician himself, he provided keyboards for the Buddy Miles album ‘Them Changes’.
When Rush arrived on the scene, Robin was head of A&R for Mercury Records. He passed ‘Rush’ to Cliff Burnstein, and took the executive producer role for Rush’s debut album, as well as for ‘The Man Who Sold The World’. Later in 1974, Robin produced a three-and-a-half minute single version of Kraftwerk’s ‘Autobahn’, which was instrumental in the success of the associated album. Kraftwerk’s US representation at the time was handled by Ira Blacker.
