Val Azzoli
When Val joined SRO in 1982 as General Manager, his role was largely in A&R. He acted as executive producer for ‘A Show of Hands’. When he left SRO, he moved to a similar post in Atlantic Records. In January 1996, he was promoted to co-CEO alongside Atlantic founder Ahmet Ertegun. Within 18 months Atlantic had become the number one record label in America. Val left Atlantic in 2004, a casualty of the reorganisation following Atlantic’s acquisition.
