Brian Collins

Whatever destiny held for Brian, it became clear early. “I’ve been out on tour since I was seven,” he says, describing how he would travel with his father Bill Collins to gigs. As he grew up, he tried a few other things before joining his dad on the circuit. “I needed a job, he said, come work with me,” says Brian. “We were the first father and son to be riggers in the business.”

Brian has worked for a variety of artists, not least he worked on the ‘Lord of The Dance’ for seven months, and more recently he accompanied Green Day on their world tour. Always, however, he likes to come back to Rush. “The band’s so great,” says Brian. “I’ve known them all my life, and they’ve always treated me with respect.”

As for the travel, “It’s interesting living on a bus,” says Brian. “Ten people, I knew none of them, their traits and idiosyncrasies…” Of course it is total coincidence that Brian wants to write “a screenplay about a serial killer who tours with a band.” Probably.
