Charlie Fach

Charles E Fach Jr headed Mercury subsidiary Smash Records in 1961, signing James Brown in 1963, as well as Roger Miller who penned ‘King of The Road’. He is credited with discovering Jerry Lee Lewis when he was VP of A&R for Mercury, and he was instrumental in bringing BTO’s classic song ‘You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’ to the masses.

Charlie was head of Mercury Records at the time Rush was signed. He was thanked on the re-issued first album. He later signed Kool and The Gang, Shania Twain and Rod Stewart, before going on to set up the Compleat record label.
