John Halfpenny
Animator John Halfpenny’s first job was to work on the Canadian production of Sesame Street. He worked for Nelvana and Canimage, on a wide variety of productions including mainstream titles such as ‘Scooby Doo’ and ‘Inspector Gadget’. After a short foray into illustration, he returned to the world of animation, picking up projects for Labatts beer and for Rush. John created the opening sequence for ‘A Show Of Hands’, in which the characters were known as the “rockin constructivists”. He also worked on ‘Force 10’.
Back at Nelvana, John worked on the animated version of ‘Beetlejuice’, as art director. Most recently, he worked on a project called ‘Angela Anaconda’, which was nominated for an Emmy and earned a prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival.
