Vic Wilson

Vic was born and bred in Ontario, and decided early on that he wanted to work in the music industry. In 1969, he moved to Britain for a couple of years, where he played in a band. He returned to Canada to form his own management company, called Concept 376. Eventually he merged companies with Ray Danniels to form SRO Productions. As SRO grew, Vic managed a widening roster of bands, including Downchild, a band he later joined as baritone sax player.

When Vic left SRO in 1981, he sold his share of the company to Ray but remained active in the music industry. He was president of CIRPA (Canadian Independent Record Production Association) from 1981-1986. In 1993 he was invited to join the line-up of Little Caesar and The Consuls, hastily reformed to make the album ‘Since 1956’, with previous members Steve Macko on vocals, Norm Sherrat on saxophone, Tom Wilson on bass, Gary Wright on drums, and new boy Tony Crivaro. Also in 1993, Vic formed an indigenous label, First Nation Records, in partnership with Lawrence Martin.
